| How
is the training delivered? |
The
training is web-based. The modules and the learning management
system to support them can be hosted on Beachcroft’s
e-learning host site. Alternatively, Absolutely Training can
build a bespoke website to host your organisation’s
particular suite of modules. |
| Can
the modules be supplied on CD-Rom or DVD? |
The training is not supplied in this format for several reasons:
the learning
management system used to support the modules can not be accessed
unless the modules are based on the internet;
supplying
modules in these formats would require individual installation
onto each machine on which e-learning is to be undertaken. By
using the web, users can access the training from home p.cs
or other locations simply by entering their personal login details;
Delivering
training through the web enables us to update the modules much
more quickly and efficiently than we could if the modules were
delivered via CD-Rom or DVD.
|
| Will
the modules be regularly updated? |
Yes.
Whenever there is a change in the law which affects a training
module, the module will be updated to reflect that change –
usually within a week of the relevant change taking place. All
users will be notified of any changes made, so that users who
have already completed the training are aware of the variation. |
| Can
the modules be customised for our organisation? |
Yes.
The content of the module can be varied to reflect your organisation’s
particular requirements or training needs. In addition the design
of the module can be varied to suit you – perhaps by the
inclusion of our organisation’s branding or by tailoring
the graphical examples to your working environment. There is
an additional cost associated with the customisation of a standard
module – which will be agreed with you before the work
is done. |
| Can
you insert links to our employment policies and procedures in
the courseware? |
Yes
- this is no problem. |
| Can
the courseware incorporate audio visual clips as well as Flash
graphics? |
Whilst
this is possible, it may negatively affect the speed at which
the courses can be run – particularly if the organization
has insufficient bandwidth. We would recommend that you discuss
this option with our course designers who will assess what may
be possible for your I.T. systems. |
| What
is the learning management system that supports the e-learning? |
The
learning management system (or “LMS”) which supports
the e-learning is Skillshub™. This system is fully SCORM
compliant. This means that the courseware may be integrated
with most existing learning management systems (if you have
one) or used as a standalone system. |
| How
does the learning management system track who has done the training? |
The
LMS tracks, by name, each individual who has completed the course
test and records their test score. Nominated “learning
managers” within the organisation can access these reports
to identify who has completed the training, who has passed the
course test and who has failed the test and may need further
assistance.
The LMS allows the organisation to schedule the sending of specific
reports (in a format of your choice) to the learning manager’s
inbox on a regular basis.
|
| What
is “nagware”? |
Nagware
is the communication facility built into the Skillshub™
learning management bystem. The system enables the organisation
to send automated e-mails to users based on defined criteria
(e.g. incomplete users for a specific course). |
| Can
an individual take the test more than once? |
There
is no limit on the number of times each user may take the test
or access the module during the licence period. |
| My
organisation has its own learning management software. Will
your modules work with our existing LMS? |
Yes.
All our modules are SCORM compliant – enabling integration
with most existing learning management systems. |
| How
does the course test work? |
The
approach towards the randomisation of the questions in the course
test is unique and patented. It means that a user will not be
presented with the same test twice and that no two users will
receive the same test. This system prevents users from sharing
answers.
Questions in the test may be presented in standard multiple
choice, multi answer or true / false format.
|
| How
are the modules licensed? |
The
modules are licensed individually on a per user per annum basis.
Programme licenses are available,
giving access to all In site from Beachcroft courses at a
reduced rate.
|
| How
much do they cost? |
The
licenses are very competitively priced, particularly for high
volume users as a range of volume discounts will apply.
For a detailed cost proposal
reflecting your particular requirements, please contact Absolutely
Training’s marketing team on

or your regular Beachcroft contact.
|
| How
long does each module take to complete? |
The
time taken to complete each module will depend on the individual
and the content of the course. Some of the more detailed courses
may take up to one hour to complete. Most modules should take
no more than 40 minutes to complete. |
